JAKE HANNON

BUFFALO METRO Area Director

“FCA as a global organization has made some pretty exciting changes that focus more on disciple-ship,” says Jake Hannon, FCA Metro Director of Buffalo, New York. “I’m eager to partner with the many thriving churches in the Buffalo area, grow our staff, and build relationships that are life-giving and impacted by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.”

As Metro Director, Hannon is also looking forward to leading the ministry in the metropolitan area of Buffalo, including the surrounding suburbs, by fundraising, creating a staff team, and casting vision for the future of FCA in the city.

Hannon is a Buffalo native and attended West Point’s United States Military Academy for his freshman year. While there, he met FCA’s National Hockey Director, Rick Randazzo. A short while later, Hannon gave his life to the Lord who opened the door for him to transfer to Liberty where he went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Religion. While at Liberty, Hannon played hockey where he was awarded the ACHA Academic All-American, as well as Defenseman of the Year. He also served as chaplain for Liberty’s men’s hockey team and their youth hockey summer camps.

Upon graduation, Hannon continued on at Liberty where he served as Liberty University’s assis-tant hockey coach from 2013-15. He has also coached for FCA hockey camps in Buffalo and Bos-ton, as well as many years in Buffalo’s youth hockey programs. In 2011 he founded the CORE Youth Hockey Strength Program, a 3-month long hockey-specific training regimen focused on de-veloping the fast twitch muscle capabilities of Western NY’s elite youth players.

In addition to ministering to youth while coaching hockey, Hannon also has a passion for youth ministry in general, having served as a youth leader for StronG Youth Ministries, Breakout/ Love-Buffalo, eXertion Youth Missions and at Kingdom Bound. As a credentialed pastor, Hannon has also served as an associate pastor at His Dwelling Place and a volunteer pastor at New Covenant Tabernacle. He began work with FCA in 2015 as Area Representative for Erie Country.

Ministry, family, and sports are among Hannon’s greatest loves. He enjoys playing any and all sports, listening to online sermons, and spending time with his family. He lives in Buffalo with his wife, Rebecca, and four children: Grace, Daniel, Gabriella and Mila.
