KATIE TUTAK

DIRECTOR OF LACROSSE OPERATIONS

“I was usually going from one practice straight to another” says, Katie Tutak who grew up in North Tonawanda, NY, and played almost every sport you can imagine. In high school, she played soccer, basketball, and lacrosse – as well as club sports.

While attending Marist College, Tutak played soccer and lacrosse. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, in 2004.

Gaining a wide array of work experiences, Tutak took time to focus on God’s calling. She enjoyed exploring various fields, working for companies like Axion International Investors, Citi and Morgan Stanley. After returning to school and receiving her teaching certificate in biology and business, she spent a year teaching. God then led her to become the head women’s lacrosse coach at Marywood University, from 2013 to 2018.

From the very beginning of her coaching career, Tutak wanted to honor God by volunteering and serving others. While at a tournament, it was an FCA Lacrosse sticker on a coach’s water bottle that peaked her interest. After checking out the organization, she quickly volunteered to coach at the Gettysburg camp the following summer. “I fell in love with the mission of FCA,” she says. This led to more camps in Gettysburg and coaching the FCA national middle school team at Lake Placid for three consecutive years.

Being in a position to encourage and walk alongside coaches and athletes throughout their journey is the part Tutak enjoys the most. “I count it as an honor to be able to speak truth, pursue excellence and be a part of something much bigger than myself.” She says, “I am looking forward to seeing how the ministry grows and impacts the lacrosse community.”

Recently moving to Rochester, Katie is excited to explore the area and looks forward to working on new hobby of playing guitar. Which she says, “is still very much a work in progress.”
