GARY ROGERS
Ministry Coordinator
As an FCA Ministry Coordinator, Gary Rogers is passionate about combining faith with sports in Buffalo, New York. “Buffalo is one of the top cities in America that is unchurched and it just so happens that people in Buffalo are also crazy about their sports teams,” says Rogers. “The ministry of FCA is perfect for this area because we have this huge love for sports but a lack of understanding of the Gospel message. I’m excited to help advance the Kingdom here in Buffalo and to serve coaches and athletes well.”
Rogers grew up in the Western New York area playing several sports in high school. After graduating, he started playing ice hockey on a pond with a few friends and has been involved in the sport ever since. Rogers started attending a hockey-focused Bible study that was run through a local church and eventually developed the group into a full-time hockey league. Now named the ‘Integrity Hockey League’, Rogers serves in the role as president and handles the administrative work for the team. “When we first started, our group was more of a skating club than a team,” says Rogers. “But I was able to build a lot of relationships with the guys involved and loved bringing my faith into our conversations off the ice. It’s come a long way.”
Rogers has worked in the business industry for the past six years and has extensive experience in back-end management and book keeping. He also helped organize and oversee the youth program at Niagara Frontier Bible for middle school students. With his wife, Marissa, and daughter, Liliana, Rogers lives in Niagara Falls, New York.
